Who We Are

Lexington Church of Christ was planted in 1978 by a Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama. In the beginning we met in homes until we were able to secure our own building. We have been in our present building on Ball Park Road since May 2003. We have been blessed to have godly men lead us as elders beginning with Ralph Jones and Wendle Northam in 1992. Today we have six elders: Larry Baker, Dennis Carter, Rick Chamberlain, Rom Kellis, Wayne Kellis, & Ernie Oliver. We also have a part-time counselor, Karen Close, on staff to help with needs of our members and people from the community. Dawn Wisniewski has been our youth minister since 2009 and Keke Brooks has worked with our College group since 2010.

We are a Church of Christ but would be considered on the progressive side of that movement. Since our very beginning we have striven to be biblical and pleasing to God. This is still true today even as we work our way through many issues relating to faith and theology.

Mission Statement

Our mission statement is very simple and is as follows:
"Live The Great Commission"
We actively participate in this mission when we:

SEEK (Seek out lost people & share the gospel with them)
DEVELOP (Develop spiritually mature people)
CARE (Care for the needs of each other)
DEMONSTRATE (Demonstrate God's love to the community)
